Say hi to Ariana!
It was her career in nursing that led Ariana to become a support worker with Alliance Community in QLD. She became a support worker when she started her first year in nursing.
“I believed it would allow me to gain valuable experiences and expand my knowledge and clinical skills that I can use throughout my future career.”
Now in her third year and on track to becoming a Registered Nurse, Ariana said she had many opportunities to learn outside of the textbook and put her nursing knowledge into practice before entering the workforce, which is she thankful for. However, working and studying full-time also comes with a set of challenges, Ariana shared.
“It is a lot of work but being proficient in my workload and time management has allowed me to develop a schedule that suits both work and university. The amazing team is always there to support me aside from ensuring that I am not overloading myself and it is one of the reasons why I love working for Alliance Community,” she says.
Ariana encourages individuals considering becoming a support worker to get in quickly. “There are a lot of clients who need our support, and this role is definitely an amazing opportunity to become more than yourself. Always remember that it is a must to have upbeat and high work ethics towards your role as it helps build rapport with your clients.”
