Registered NIISQ Provider

Attendant support for NIISQ participants.
Person-centred support

Attendant care and support in the home

The NIISQ provides lifetime support to people with serious injuries from motor accidents in Queensland. It funds rehabilitation, medical treatment, and other necessary support services to improve the person's quality of life and help them reintegrate into the community.

If you are a NIISQ participant, we may be able to provide your eligible supports. This is primarily attendant care and support in the home, with a focus on personal assistance for daily living including personal hygiene, meal preparation, shopping and giving participants access to the community.

"I've been using Alliance Community for transport support for 2 1/2 years and it has been so great. The support workers all come from different backgrounds and you're able to really get to know them. The Alliance Community office is very accommodating, they will do whatever they can to make your experience positive. I keep coming back to them as they make it so easy and positive!"

Support worker screening, qualifications and skills

As a registered provider we must meet NIISQ service standards, with a strong focus on person-centred support. We are also obliged to provide thorough levels of workforce screening, so support workers with the appropriate qualifications and skills are provided. Our rigorous recruitment process includes best-practice workforce screening, which meets and exceeds NIISQ service standards. This includes a set of principles and processes to keep participants safe and to ensure they receive good quality treatment, care and support services.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

No. Alliance Community is a support service provider. You need to contact NIISQ to assess your eligibility.

Even though both programs support people with disabilities, there are a few key differences between NIISQ and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

NIISQ

  • Queensland only
  • Support for injuries sustained in an eligible motor vehicle accident
  • No age restrictions for eligibility
  • Funded by levy from CTP and vehicle registration in Queensland

NDIS

  • National
  • Necessary and reasonable supports for life
  • Must be aged under 65
  • Funded by the Commonwealth and state and territory governments

The scheme is available to those who sustain serious personal injuries in a motor vehicle accident or work-related accident in Queensland. NIISQ funds, assesses and decides necessary and reasonable treatment, care and support for NIISQ participants, and manages and monitors the provision of these services.
